About Us:
Sirens and Salutes, Inc was founded and incorporated by Bill and Cindy Price in April 2021. Bill is a Navy Veteran and retired firefighter, now volunteering at his local fire department. He also is Commander of our local VFW Post. Cindy is a Registered Nurse with many years' experience working in the ER and ICU. She now also volunteers with the Buchanan Lions Club. Both coming from service families with military and police backgrounds, instilling the value of community service in their children.
What started as a passion for attending 9/11 Memorial Stair Climbs and making sure we 'Never Forget' those killed on September 11, turned into hosting our first 9/11 Memorial Walk in our hometown of Buchanan, Va. in 2019. In 2021, as our first official year as Sirens and Salutes, we had the "Walk of Heroes" trail , American flags placed on both sides of the track, with ID photo tags of those who died on 9/11 , with a biography on the backside. Those flags and tags were adopted out after the walk, so no hero was left behind.
Years ago, We realized we needed to honor and remember those killed in the line of duty every year and we placed a Fallen Heroes Tree in our front yard. This tree is now located at the front of Buchanan Volunteer Fire Dept. for all to see. Wooden star ornaments are hand painted and marked with the names, departments, and date of death of all fire, police, EMS and this year, military was added. In years past we have mailed these ornaments to family if requested. We even include service dogs.

2022 we were able to bring the Fallen Heroes Tree to Hotel Roanoke for the Fashions for Evergreens fundraiser for United Way. Thousands of people were able to reflect on those Heroes lost during 2022. We are pleased to say we have been asked to return for 2023 and took 2ns place in the Peoples Choice award.

With some encouragement we decided it was time to expand and grow into an official non-profit and we obtained our 501c3 status as Sirens and Salutes, Inc. in April 2021. We continue to plan to host 9/11 Memorial Walks each year on 9/11, the Heroes Tree, and in 2012 we purchased and placed almost 500 wreaths on Veterans graves in a local Buchanan cemetery. We have expanded to other cemeteries in 2022 and plan for more in 2023. Veterans Day we hosted a Veterans breakfast at a local restaurant, where Veterans came to have breakfast (on us), sit with other Veterans, and be Honored for their service. They were given a special Veterans edition Sirens and Salutes coffee mug. Thank you gift cards for local eateries are given to on duty Police and Fire when we have the opportunity to see them in the community.
We have worked exclusively with a Veteran owned business to purchase and supply our screen-printed shirts and sweatshirts and a military affiliated local business to supply our embroidered hats. Our other items are shipped to us as blanks and designs are printed by Cindy, to help keep our costs down. Each item is truly unique, as they are hand finished.
